Summer Vacation and Mom and Marc's trip up.

Well I took a much needed vacation from work only to get stuck being bossed around by my mother, well that's not exactly how it went but...  My mother and Marc travled from Austin TX up to Syracuse where I picked them up on the eve of my last night at work and I drove them up to Lake Ontario, drove through Sackets Harbor, then on back to my place in Carthage for the night.  In the morning I took them to get a rental car and off to the Adirondack Mountains we went.  Once we arrived into Wilmington I met up with Jason at Steinhoff's to get the folks settled into the hotel room.  And from that point on there was seven days straight of fishing, sight seeing, boating, drinking, and good eating.

Here my mother and Marc are fishing in thChateaugay River.

After catching so many fish my mother was in desperate need of a break.  I've never brought a book down to the river but it's worth a try.

It's amazing where life can sustain itself.

The next few pictures are of a trip my mother, Marc, Scott, Jamie, John and I took to Lake Placid, the lake itself, put a bunch of boats in the water and began to fish the Hexagenia mayfly hatch for Rainbow trout.

My trusty canoe motor Johnny.

Though it looks like a massive forest fire, this was a sunset over Lake Placid.

This next photo is the result of the previous two, fire roasted rainbow trout.  We also had fried trout, and Jamie's awesome past salad.

The Next three pictures are of the summit of Whiteface Mountain where I took my mother and Marc for a little sight seeing.

Adirondack Adventures Summer '12

Well I've been pretty busy with work and play and haven't taken any time to up date this blog so here goes.  Bare with me...

The first two pictures are of Scott and I squeezing a little golf into the day after a long morning of fishing.

It's tough finding a good atmosphere to drink some beer and eat a "gourmet" burger but we try hard.  at High  Peaks resort's Dancing Bear restaurant in Lake Placid overlooking Mirror Lake.

And some fishing pic's.

A great pic of the Ausable river just upstream of Whiteface Mountain.
